NLRC Policies and Procedures

Welcome!

We are happy that you have entrusted Next Level Reading Center to help your child reach their reading goals. We desire to provide your child with the best learning experience, and your agreement with the following policies will help us do so.

Academic Calendar

We do not follow the school district calendars as we serve multiple students at different school districts, and our business runs year-round.

Student Weekly Tutoring Schedule

All tutoring sessions will take place online via Zoom. Please adhere to the NLRC academic calendar and weekly schedule. You are responsible for any conflicts in your schedule that may prevent you from attending sessions.

Pre-Assessment

Before a student begins lessons, the student will be given an assessment. This assessment will help determine the student’s instructional level to customize lessons based on students’ academic reading needs. Assessment will take place during students’ tutoring sessions and may take 2-4 sessions to complete.

Tutoring Session Preparedness

Students will need a quiet space with good lighting for the lesson. Students must be ready for each lesson and need the following, a desktop or laptop with a webcam, headphones or earpieces, and high-speed internet access.

Session Attendance

Please be prompt, as we cannot interfere with other student sessions booked after you. If you are more than 15 minutes late to the session, we will cancel your session, and no makeup session will be provided.

Session Lengths

Sessions are either 25 minutes or 55 minutes in length depending on the selection of your package.

Tuition Fees

NLRC tuition is a flat monthly fee. Our holiday closures have been included in flat rate, except for December which will be prorated for that month for the time we will be closed.

Payment Policy

NRLC uses an automatic payment system. Payments are due on the 1st of every month.

Services will be paused if payment is not received, and you will have one week to rectify payments to avoid forfeiting your tutoring spot.

Cancellation Policy

If a student fails to show up for a lesson without a 24-hour advanced notice, the lesson will not be refundable or available for rescheduling. If you need to reschedule, let us know 24 hours in advance.

Discontinue Policy

There is no fee for discontinuing services. Once you sign up for tutoring services we secure a spot for your child for the semester, so as a courtesy we ask that you provide 30 days’ notice to discontinue services.

Vacation Policy

Please advise NLRC in advance if you will take a vacation during the academic semester. Also, be advised that once you sign up for tutoring, you are paying to secure a spot; we cannot hold tutoring spots for extended vacations.

Sick Day Policy

You have one (1) emergency sick day each semester to reschedule sessions. Any cancellations after that for rescheduling need to be made 24 hours in advance; otherwise, the session will be forfeited.

Inclement Weather Policy

You are responsible for informing NLRC of any inclement weather in your area that could affect your child attending tutoring services. We serve different counties and cities, so we do not follow any local weather advisories of any particular location.

Reading Intervention Service

We are a reading intervention program helping your child close gaps in reading using a personalized lesson plan; we are not a homework help program.

 Media and Recordings

It’s impressive to see the progress of our students, and we love sharing their progress on our social pages. We only share photos and videos with parent permission.

Communication

We communicate directly with parents regarding their child, not the child’s teacher.  We ask parents to respond to tutors in a timely manner. Please text or email your child’s assigned reading tutor if you need to contact them.
